Quality in Clinical Laboratory

It is widely recognized that errors in laboratory medicine could significantly compromise patient safety independently of time, place and measurement procedure. All clinical laboratories have to implement measures to detect high-risk processes, and to identify incidents and associated risks to patient safety. A wide number of instruments have been implemented to maintain the so-called “quality” of the process in clinical laboratories, and recently the IFCC have created a new task force on Global Lab Quality with the aim of providing scientific support teams to train and develop training programs for participating laboratories
