Challenges of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in laboratory medicine

The digital revolution does not stop at any area of life and also plays a major role in healthcare. The young professional and researcher in laboratory medicine, or Young Scientist, has a key role in this changing lab environment and tries to seize new opportunities given by technological evolutions. This presentation will cover challenges of digital technologies in laboratory medicine from several facets, including digital competences, artificial intelligence, and applications of bioinformatics in clinical routine.

A particular emphasis will be done by three Young Scientists on 1) Skills of the Future - What kind of digital competence is needed? 2) Augmenting Intelligence: Basics of Artificial Intelligence in the lab and 3) Bioinformatic infrastructure, pipelines, and impact in clinics.
