Biography Pieter Vermeersch is Professor of Medicineat the University of Leuven and works as a clinical pathologist at the Clinical Department of Laboratory Medicine of the University Hospitals Leuven (UZ Leuven). He is the head of special chemistry and mass spectrometry laboratory which performs testing for toxicology, therapeutic drug monitoring, metabolic disorders and endocrinology. His main areas of clinical expertise are metabolic disorders and cardiovascular and renal diseases. He is the chair of the European Federation of Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) Working Group Post-Analytical phase and a member of the IFCC WG-LEPS and EFLM WG-PRE.
