Professor Mario Plebani, is an honorary Professor at the University of Padova and current President of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM, 2024–2025). He is the founder and past president of the Working Group on Laboratory Errors and Patient Safety of the IFCC. Author of over 1500 publications, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine and Diagnosis. He has been awarded several honors and awards for his contributions to laboratory medicine and patient care over the years.
