Dr. Jaffe is the Wayne and Kathryn Preisel Professor of Cardiovascular Disease Research. He is a notable expert on biomarkers who has published extensively within this field for more than 40 years. He is the chair of the Division of Clinical Core Laboratory Services in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic and a consultant at the Division of Ischemic Heart Disease and Critical Care, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine He is a member of most of the major cardiology and clinical chemistry editorial boards and sits on most of the major guidelines committees for the use of these biomarkers.
